These works are small animals. Although they are made of
paper, they are round and three-dimensional. I can feel the vitality from these
paper animals. In fact, they are also lifelike. The most surprising is two
foxes. One is big and the other is small, but the folding of their tails is
different. It may take a lot of imagination to do that.
At first, I thought these paper works of art were supported
by something inside. But this is a kind of origami. We usually know origami,
whether it is planar or three-dimensional. The formation of works is realized
by folding. It is usually flat and straight. It emphasizes that creases must
appear. When we learn origami, we often feel that origami is mathematical and
geometric.
However, master Yoshizawa proposed shallow (soft) folding
and wet folding. In this way, the paper is sprayed wet first. Then wipe with a
wet cloth to make the paper soft due to slight moisture, and then wake up
carefully through your hands. The works folded in this way are more
three-dimensional and show more delicate details, so that each work is full of
dynamic and vitality.
As we all know, wet paper is difficult to shape, how can wet
origami overcome this problem? Its secret lies in the glue contained in special
paper. This is a water-soluble adhesive that binds paper fibers and provides
hardness. Once the paper is damp, the adhesive is dissolved, the paper fibers
are dispersed, the paper will become soft and full of ductility. On the other
hand, during the drying process, the opposite is true. The paper fibers can be
kept in any position you want.
Born in 1989, Hoang Tien Quyet has been in touch with
origami since he was a child. His obsession with origami continues to this day,
and he still insists on creating. In a Vietnam origami forum, inspired by
netizens, he began to try "wet folding" technology and constantly
created outstanding works. Quyet's animal works created by wet folding method
are vivid, vivid and elegant, especially the animal body full of round lines,
breaking away from the traditional origami rigid creased lines.
The reason why I choose this article is that the author's
works are the most amazing among these articles, and the inspiration to me is
that although this is an art form that everyone can know and is known by the
public. But changing some of the details of the production can also become
lifelike and unique works.
